PC users, you can currently grab two free games on storefront Steam but you’re going to have to act quick as the offers expire tomorrow, on the evening of 22 January.

Let’s start off with the stronger of the two, Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena.

Developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by GrabTheGames, this one’s a fantasy RPG meets management simulator that first landed all the way back in 2016.

You’ll essentially run an academy where gladiators are trained. Improve your students, increase your influence in the realm, and “reap the rewards of your labour”.

“In Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena you are not a hero, a noble ruler, or even a combatant,” the synopsis teases.

“Instead, you are the new owner of a team of fighting slaves, one of the many factions who compete for the adoration of the common people in the ancient storied arenas of the Crownlands.”

The title boasts a ‘Very Positive’ review consensus on Steam which is good to see. “Didn't expect much since it's a free game but god dayum, this game is good,” reads one recent review.

I will say that this is a game with a retro aesthetic so if you’re a fan of early 00s vibes, you’re in luck.

Offering something quite different is Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman, a RTS game from developer Yurii Nikshynch and publisher GrabTheGames again.

This one’s aesthetically very polygonal and stripped back, with players commanding the Counter Terrorist Stickman Forces, whatever that is.

You’ll play through various battle scenarios from what I can gather.

It’s only got a ‘Mixed’ review consensus but honestly, I had a lot of laughs. I'm laughing at it, in a kind way.

“I received the game for free and it has to be one of the worst games I have played on steam,” said one player, while another added, “This game was insanely awful, I happened to see this on the search bar of Steam store as a free discounted game. It feels wrong that I was not paid to play this game.”

Time Is Running Out To Claim

Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena would typically set you back £4.29 on Steam, with Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman priced at £2.49.

As such, these games being free doesn’t make for the biggest saving you’ll ever hear about but I’m certainly not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

As I said, both games are only free until 6pm GMT on 22 January so you’re going to have to act fast. Once claimed, the games are yours to keep.

I highly suggest you head over to your territory’s Steam store as quickly as possible as the end of the offer will likely differ depending on your timezone.
