Skyrim fans need to try this free-to-play RPG that packs Elder Scrolls and even some Dark Souls vibes into its gameplay and imagery.

Steam certainly isn’t short of free games, in fact there are six new freebies for you to download and keep forever right now if you’re looking for something new to play. Right now though we’re recommending, no, demanding that you play Eternium right now especially if you’re a fan of the Elder Scrolls games.

The next Elder Scrolls game gracing our consoles and PCs will be The Elder Scrolls VI, the teaser of which can be found below

Back to Eternium though, it’s a delightful RPG that’s bound to grab your attention if you’re a fan of dungeon-crawlers. The game’s official description reads: “Hack & slash against the dark forces threatening your home-world. Experience intense tactical fights in this fast paced, old school action RPG.”

Players can choose from a number of classes like warriors, mages, etc, and wield a variety of weapons from swords, axes, and even guns for some reason, as you trek through perilous dungeons on a quest for glory and gold.

Each character can be levelled up as you go to unlock new abilities and equipment, all of which will make your exploration easier as you progress to harder enemies and challenges.

The game is completely free for all players, and is updated regularly with changes to the gameplay and new content. It’s well-worth a go if you’re looking for another RPG to sink a few hours into, especially during the long wait for a new Elder Scrolls title.

Bethesda is hard at work on The Elder Scrolls VI, though I think we can all agree that the initial teaser trailer released far too soon, making the gap between the reveal and official gameplay unbearable for the majority of fans.
