This new RPG is one for fans of Skyrim and Dark Souls, and you can sample it for free right now. Oh, and it’s for cat fans too.
Despite being quite different games, Skyrim and Dark Souls are two of the best that the action RPG genre has to offer, even after all these years.
Originally released in 2011, Bethesda has ported this beloved entry in The Elder Scrolls series to every console generation so far, due to fans never tiring of its Norse-inspired world of Tamriel. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Skyrim had at least one more port in the tank.
As for Dark Souls, also originally released in 2011, this FromSoftware RPG is considered to be an all-time great, with fans enticed by its harsh world and epic boss battles. Dark Souls has not only spawned two sequels and a remaster, but it’s also inspired countless clones.

So, what if I were to tell you that you can play a new game inspired by Skyrim and Dark Souls right now? How awesome would that be? If that sounds like your thing, then Kristala could be worth your time.
The game in question is developed and published by the indie studio Astral Clocktower Studios.
“Kristala is a dark fantasy action RPG featuring challenging combat, fluid parkour, and deep exploration,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.
“Master the ancient magic of the Sacred Six Kristals and uncover the source of a mysterious curse in a thrilling, story-driven adventure.”

“I am incredibly impressed with this game. The combat and movement are fluid and intuitive, the graphics and art direction are excellent too,” explained akwardturtle112.
“I love cats and I love action RPGs, so this game was basically made for me,” wrote BeeCat.

There are some negative reviews, as is often the case with just about every game in existence. From what I can tell, most of those negative reviews are a result of various bugs. So hopefully, the developer will fix those ASAP.
Kristala is out now as a Steam early access title, and it even has a free playable demo that you can download today.
