When it comes to family-friendly fun for all ages, it doesn't get much better than LEGO, whether it’s building sets or playing its video games. With that in mind, we’ll rank some of the best LEGO video games ever, and spoiler, it includes some bangers.
Developed by TT Games and TT Fusion, these studios have mastered adapting the physical LEGO format into the world of video games, and with that, adapted a plethora of pop culture franchises from some of the biggest names in the Entertainment industry.
The likes of Star Wars, DC, Marvel, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and much more have all seen great success in the video game realm, largely thanks to the talents of TT Games. With a blend of fun, easy-to-pick-up gameplay, welcoming visuals, big collaborations and its signature humour, these studios know how to develop a winning formula release after release.
So, let’s take a look at some of the best LEGO video games ever made, including a potential 2026 Game of the Year contender.

This is the latest release from the ever-popular series and the aforementioned Game of the Year contender, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, references some of the best movies of the franchise, including the Christopher Nolan trilogy, the classic Michael Keaton movies, 2022’s The Batman and more.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has a huge Gotham City to explore on your lonesome or with a friend, as well as silly combat and fun, light-hearted puzzles. Not to mention so many secrets to discover, even The Riddler would be kept busy. “LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is impossible to put down. It manages to imbue the intensity of Gotham with just the right level of whimsy and humour,” said GAMINGbible’s Kate in her review.

This is the main release before LEGO Batman: The Dark Knight. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the biggest game in the entire series, not only with its huge open galaxy and unlockable characters, but also with it representing all the mainline movies from Episode I: The Phantom Menace, all the way to Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga features melee and gun combat, space battles, puzzles, gorgeous visuals and much more. Some might not only consider this to be the best LEGO game ever, but also the best Star Wars game ever made. The Force is certainly strong with this release.

This is a faithful adaptation of the live-action movies from Peter Jackson, and in my humble opinion, the best The Lord of the Rings game ever made (sorry, not sorry, The Return of the King). And unlike 2014’s LEGO The Hobbit, this is a complete trilogy.
Other than being a fantastic game in its own right, LEGO The Lord of the Rings is also one of the most important entries in the TT series, because it was the first game to have some resemblance of an open world, allowing players to explore a connected Middle-earth, it was also the first game to have voice acting using soundbites from the movies, and it added a puzzle element when building LEGO, rather than just holding down a button in previous games. If any game in this series deserves a remaster, it’s this.

This was released during a time when the MCU was arguably at its peak, and in that respect, there was no better release for its time than LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. While not based on the MCU movies directly, this game was a celebration of all things Marvel, whether it's the comics, animations or movies.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes had a fairly large Manhattan to explore, packed with side-quests, secret areas and tons of new playable characters to unlock. Warner Bros. Games and TT Games did release more Marvel-inspired games after this, but there was always something special about LEGO Marvel Super Heroes that the others do not have, and that’s oozing charm.

The LEGO Harry Potter games were initially released as two separate collections. Years one to four in 2010, and years five to seven in 2011. However, in 2016, we finally got a complete collection. LEGO Harry Potter Collection takes us on a journey from The Philosopher's Stone all the way to the Deathly Hallows.
It’s worth keeping in mind that the 2016 release was a basic remaster with no major improvements other than subtle resolution and performance enhancements, but the simplicity of this collection is probably a main reason why players keep coming back to it. It’s also a very faithful adaptation to the live-action movies, so if you’re looking for something that isn't Hogwarts Legacy, then LEGO Harry Potter Collection might be your cup of Hagrid’s brew.

This collection of games includes the original Jurassic Park trilogy and the newest movie at the time of its release, Jurassic World. Over the years, we’ve not been treated to the best video game adaptations of this dino franchise, which is probably why this particular adaptation can thank the slim pickings for its inclusion on this list.
That being said, as terrifying as the T-Rex chase was in the original Jurassic Park, the signature humour and presentation of TT Games and TT Fusion managed to turn that chase into pure LEGO comedy gold. Perhaps what helped set LEGO Jurassic World apart from other games in this series is not controlling a mini-John Hammond, but actual dinosaurs like the aforementioned T-Rex, as well as Velociraptors, Dilophosaurus, Triceratops and more. Sure, this is a basic game in terms of exploration, combat and puzzles, but when we can play as LEGO dinosaurs, it’s always going to be a winner.
