Resident Evil meets Blair Witch in upcoming Steam bodycam horror

Resident Evil meets Blair Witch in upcoming Steam bodycam horror

Keep the lights on for this one

Horror games are always trying to push new boundaries and take the scares to another level. With this new horror game coming to Steam, the genre will be exploring new features and one really big fear.

If you don’t like snakes, this one is not for you. Digested is a horror game played via a bodycam camera that distorts the field of view. You’ll have to navigate the world around you, all while being chased by a giant snake.

Nobody wants to get lost in the backwoods especially in Resident Evil 7.

The premise is simple, you’re dropped into a wooded area and must navigate your way around and out before a man-eating giant snake chomps and digests you.

It’s certainly original, we can give it that. You’ll utilise various tools and items to create an escape strategy all while moving through difficult and unknown terrain.

Using a unique first-person bodycam view, you’ll experience a “short, intense, replayable horror survival game that thrusts you into a heart-pounding scenario: evade a relentless giant snake determined to consume you.”

It sounds like a nightmare come to life. There are bound to be some panicked moments as you run through a woods pulled right out of something like Resident Evil, and there’s a huge snake just eyeing you and flicking its tongue.

According to the game’s Steam page each playthrough will be different, allowing for plenty of replayability and new scares.

“Starting locations, navigation points, powerups, and even the extraction pod location are randomised every time you play. Your strategy must adapt with each new game, challenging you to think on your feet, take calculated risks, and maintain focus.”

As a horror fan, I love the sound of this. I’m hoping there are some big jump scares and plenty of moments where you’re lost and unsure of the direction to move. Whether you play this with friends in the room or not, it might be worth keeping the lights on.
