Perfect 10/10 Steam Freebie is Tony Hawks meets Trials

...and Snakes on a Plane, somehow

This upcoming Steam game looks like an absolute fever dream. More importantly, though, it also looks like an absolute blast to play.

What would you get if you mixed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Trials Fusion, and the Samuel L. Jackson 2006 film Snakes on a Plane together? What an oddly specific question, but I’m so glad you asked.

Freefall '95 is an action arcade bullet hell game, developed and published by S-Bend Games. The aim of the game here is to fall to your death after a plane explodes in mid-air, but, y’know, stylishly.

You have sixty seconds to do as many sick tricks and complete as many random activities before you can… until you uncerminously bounce off of the pavement below. However, once you die, you’ll be timeloop’d right back to the start, so you can fall to your death all over again.

It’s set to drop on Steam in a couple of months, sometime in March, but you don’t have to wait that long to get your hands on it.

That’s because a new demo for Freefall '95 just landed (hah) on Steam, and the reviews for this one are already looking strong. It’s currently sitting at a 100% positive rating, with 17 reviews (as of writing).

Here’s what the folks on Steam have to say about it.

“It feels like Tony Hawk falling to his death from a plane crash and hes compelled to do a mad amount of styling on the way down,” writes Steam reviewer Malarpuppet.

“Really excited to see what they do with this project when its out. Played it a fair bit on the SteamDeck and it works great.”

“This game is crazy and wacky in the best possible way. It has a tight, well thought out gameplay loop that's loads of fun to play. And I gotta give props to the composer because the soundtrack goes way harder than it needs to,” commented Steam user subnerdica.

“I appreciate that you can refund the purchase of items after you've bought them because it removes the pressure of committing to a particular playstyle early on. I can't wait for the full game.”

Gotta say, they might be onto something with the soundtrack comments, because even the music in the trailer goes hard.

Hoping this one sticks the landing when it arrives on Steam in a couple of months, because the world needs more goofy games like this.
