Steam users are going to either love or hate this latest freebie, depending on how many games you’ve left waiting in your backlog.
Every gamer is guilty of having a backlog, whether it be physical or digital. There are a lot of great games out there and when they’re on sale for a steal it’s hard to resist the urge to grab them while you can.
If you don’t play them though that collection simply builds and builds and builds until suddenly your library is bursting with unplayed titles.
For too long have we ignored them, and now this Steam freebie will highlight just how much you haven’t played when it turns your library into a physical collection.

The game is called BOXROOM and it’s exactly what it sounds like. In short though it’s a design simulator where you can build and organise your own bedroom with an assortment of shelves and display spaces.
You’ll pick out the furniture from bookcases, to bedside tables, to lamps. Slap some posters all over the wall, select some bed sheets and make sure the colours are right and then you’re ready to go.
Once you’re ready the game will import your Steam library and turn the games into physical boxes, which you’ll then have to sift through and organise as you see fit.

It’s a charming game and a really cool concept, but when your Steam library is made up of 80% games you haven’t actually booted up yet, it puts a lot in perspective…
That doesn’t mean it’s not fun though, and if you’re an organisational freak you’ll no doubt get a kick out of this game.
Whether you prefer your games in alphabetical order, separated by genre, or simply thrown wherever they’ll fit, there are plenty of options. If my retro game collection was organised even half as good as some of the examples I’ve seen online I’d be a happy gamer.
At the time of writing BOXROOM isn’t officially out yet, with a full release planned for Q2 this year.
Fear not though as a free demo is currently available, allowing you to jump in and start creating a room straight out of yesteryear.
Don’t sleep on this one, especially if you love a cosy sim game to relax and unwind with.
