If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Valheim, then you might want to check out this underrated RPG.
Even to this day, 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is one of the most beloved entries in the Ubisoft series, despite its visuals and gameplay showing its age. Though, to be fair, the game is now well over a decade old at this point.
Thankfully, however, if rumours are true, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag could be getting a modern remake, and for better or worse, it may have new and cut content from the original game.
In the meantime, while we wait for confirmation from Ubisoft on whether the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake is real or not, this underrated RPG might be worth marking on your treasure map, especially if you like the crafting and survival elements of Valheim.

The game in question is called Salt 2: Shores of Gold, developed and published by the indie team at Lavaboots Studios, and despite releasing in 2022, it may have flown under many gamers' radars.
“Salt 2: Shores of Gold is an open-world pirate game focused on exploration, survival, and RPG elements,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.
“Play solo or with up to five friends as you sail the sea with your ship as a mobile base. Discover islands full of quests, towns, caves, and secrets. Level up, craft epic gear, hunt, fish, and decorate your ship.”

At the time of writing, Salt 2: Shores of Gold has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
“I bought this game so long ago in hopes that it would one day have co-op. Now that there is co-op and I finally played it, I can 100% recommend this game,” wrote camingjaming. “The only thing this game is missing is ship combat. It has everything else.”
“Underrated. Sure, it lacks polish, but it has a great amount of content and a variety of things to do. Games should be fun. Salt is fun,” declared Spo0n.
“It's a pretty fleshed-out game right now. If you like open-world games, this is a must. I think it's better than No Man's Sky in terms of exploration and gameplay loop,” claimed BarbieComSauce.
