Cyberpunk 2077 players now have a new way to get creative, with a mod that lets them create their own missions in the seedy streets of Night City; all while we wait for Project Orion, the upcoming sequel.
Despite its terrible launch, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is now widely considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time, alongside The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This sci-fi, open-world RPG takes place in Night City, where players control V, a mercenary navigating the criminal underworld. With branching storylines, meaningful choices and cybernetic augmentations that can turn V into a superhuman, the game already offers plenty of freedom. However, this new free mod, ‘Cyberpunk Contracts’, takes that player choice even further.
What is Cyberpunk Contracts?
Cyberpunk Contracts is a newly released mod created by EdenisB, and it’s free to download now via NexusMods.
“Build your own gigs in Night City. Drop NPCs, trigger zones and doors where you stand, give them rules (when V gets close, the guard draws and opens fire), then press Test and play it. Missions save as small files you can share,” reads the description of the mod.

However, this is something you need to know before downloading ‘Cyberpunk Contracts’. To get started, you'll need a few other mods, including Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET), Codeware and RED4ext. These are modding tools that expand Cyberpunk 2077's capabilities, allowing other mods to add new features and functionality to the game.

What are the main features of Cyberpunk Contracts?
- Create your own missions: Build custom gigs and missions directly in Night City.
- Choose your NPCs and enemies: Pick from more than 600 characters, including gang members and corporate personnel.
- Customise enemy behaviour: Set up encounters where guards can draw their weapons and open fire when V gets too close.
- Add interactive elements: Use trigger zones, doors and other devices to bring your custom missions to life.
- Test your missions: Jump straight into your creations and see how they play out.
- Share your creations: Save your missions as JSON files so other players can download and try them for themselves.
- Keep Night City fresh: Create new gigs to enjoy, even after you've completed the main story.

It is also worth keeping in mind that with this being an early-released mod, it’s probably a bit rough around the edges right now, so expect some bugs. But hopefully, you won't encounter too many, and if you do, they’ll get fixed soon.
Lastly, as is the case with all other Cyberpunk 2077 mods, ‘Cyberpunk Contracts’ is a PC exclusive.
Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
