Starfield review embargo confirmed as game officially becomes playable

We only have two weeks before the results start rolling in

We now officially have a date for when the Starfield embargo lifts!

On 17 August it was confirmed that the Starfield review embargo will lift on 31 August at 5PM BST (which is 12PM EST and 9AM PST, just in case you were wondering). Once that embargo is gone all the reviews will start rolling in, and gamers preparing to enter space will know what awaits them. Kinda.

Not long now... See what awaits in Starfield's official trailer

Naturally, reviews will attempt to avoid any spoilers – here at GAMINGbible, our review will be thorough but as spoiler-free as possible so we don’t ruin the surprise for anyone.

When Bethesda announced Starfield had gone gold and pre-downloads were a-go, the hype that’s been threatening to bubble over did just that. Now fans are scrambling to find as much information as possible, despite the embargo being in place.

Although details remain a guarded secret – yes, even here we’re keeping it close to our chests – gamers are feeling confident in the state of the game. That_Border said “Two weeks time for reviewers, review embargo ending one week before the main release, and the fact that there is an early access, are actually pretty big green flags for the state of the game and the confidence the devs have in it.”

We have to admit, right now, the odds are incredibly favourable. Even more so since we found out about a housing system for the major cities of the game, and learned that there’s 20 companions that’ll be joining us on our journey.

As we all shiver with antici… pation, there're some gamers who aren’t able to play who are just excited to see what kind of reception Bethesda’s latest game will get. “I don't have an Xbox or a PC that could run this game, but I'm excited to see its reception and hope it lives up to the hype,” commented SeriousGeorge2. We feel you George – this is more than just a PC and Xbox game, it’s about finding out if dreams really do come true, or whether hype is a lie, much like the cake.

The countdown is on. Prepare for our review coming once the embargo lifts on 31 August, and be sure to remember that Starfield will be available on 6 September for both PC and Xbox.
