Skyrim: Legacy Of The Dragonborn promises to 'forever change how you play'

Play this while you wait for The Elder Scrolls VI

If you’re looking for a new way to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, because the base game has grown a bit stale over the years, this is the way to do it.

That’s not a dig at Skyrim by the way, it’s a great game and it’ll probably retain its popularity even when it’s replaced by The Elder Scrolls VI, whenever that gets released.

That said, it's been over a decade since Skyrim first came out and there are some players out there who’ve seen and done literally everything there is to do in the game, and could do with an expansion.

Fortunately the mod Legacy of the Dragonborn does just that and it’s worth playing by just about anyone who’s a fan of the game.

The mod’s description reads: “Legacy of the Dragonborn will forever change how you play Skyrim. Not just a display mod, not just a quest mod, not just a new guild mod, but a complete foundational flagship mod to build an entire load order around. This DLC expansion sized mod adds hundreds of new items, dozens of new quests and hundreds of extra hours of play.”

Keep in mind that HowLongToBeat reckons a completionist run of Skyrim takes around 234 hours to finish, so to add hundreds of hours worth of content on top of that is insane and it’s free on NexusMods.

It’s worth checking out for the new quests alone, and if you play Skyrim regularly, starting a new file for this mod could very well keep you occupied until more news on The Elder Scrolls VI surfaces.

We still don’t know when Bethesda is planning to show us more of its next open-world RPG but with The Game Awards coming up in December the odds of us seeing another announcement are promising.
