The world of Skyrim may already be expansive and full to the brim with places to explore, but this free download has just added an expansion-sized area for some lucky fans.

Fans of Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will already know that the game features one of the best open-world maps of all time.

Complete with dungeons, forts, farms, castles, villagers, and more, there is plenty to explore as you take on the massive RPG.

However, thanks to one talented fan, we are about to get a whole new area to explore at no extra cost.

Olenveld is a “new lands” mod created by F0RCEFI3LD over on Nexus Mods which brings the lore-rich location of Olenveld to Skyrim.

As the size of a small DLC, this mod also introduces a unique questline and an island recapturing system.

"This is not your grave...but you are welcome in it”, the tagline reads.

Taking over 3,000 hours to create, the Olenveld mod is based on the book ‘The Exodus’ which can be found around Skyrim.

“This small island, a day’s sail north of Winterhold with good winds, was long forgotten and is said to have been used by Tiber Septim as a burial ground for his conquest's casualties—a haunting landmass filled with the fallen.”

At Olenveld, you will not be recognised as the Dragonborn as the residents are completely cut off from the goings on of the mainland.

Instead, you are a mere mortal who must seek answers as you help to restore the island to its former glory.

With undead foes and relentless enemies to face, your decisions will impact the island but luckily, you will have brand-new equipment to help you on your journey.

So if you are a Skyrim fan and want another reason to boot the game up again, Olenveld is definitely enough incentive.
