Star Wars fans believe a remaster of The Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King is entirely possible now the OG Battlefront games have been re-released.

Both of the OG Star Wars Battlefront games have been remastered and re-released today, bringing gamers young and old back to some iconic sci-fi battlefields.

Fans on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo platforms can now relive some of their fondest gaming memories with up to 64 players, including complete expansion and bonus content.

Unfortunately the game’s launch hasn’t quite gone to plan, as it’s been reported players are struggling to enter online matches due to issues with the game’s servers.

Looking past the technical difficulties, which will undoubtedly be fixed soon, fans have been pondering what other games could be brought back to life for modern consoles, and they think they’ve found the perfect choice.

It’s none other than The Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King, which is basically Battlefront but with swords and bows instead of lightsabers and blasters.

This was claimed in a Reddit post by Alisalard1384, who said: “Since they're remastering and re-releasing OG Star Wars Battlefronts, they should also do the same with Return Of The King.”

Of course fans agreed, believing if Star Wars can have its past games re-released for modern audiences a franchise as big as Lord Of The Rings should too.

One fan said: “This game was amazing. there arent many games ive replayed as much as this one”

Another added: “Legolas was OP in that game. 10/10 needs a remaster.”

Finally one said: “The best part of this game was the levels that would indefinitely spawn waves, so you didn’t have to move on if you just wanted the fight.”

If Lord Of The Rings games do get remasters/re-releases in the future, hopefully they’re released in a better state than the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection.
