The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog reportedly has a lot of new games on the way, and one of them is going to get fans seriously hyped.

The next game to be released by Naughty Dog will be Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a space-faring adventure that we haven’t seen much gameplay of and yet it excites us all the same.

Following that The Last of Us Part 3 has been teased, likely giving us a conclusion to a story that’s been going on for so many years now. This is due to the first two games getting frankly unnecessary remasters/remakes…

However the most exciting tease comes from a project that hasn’t been named yet, Despite this fans are sure they know exactly what it is, and they couldn’t be more excited.

A Thief’s Return…

One of the other singleplayer projects currently in the works at Naughty Dog is supposedly being led by Shaun Escayg, who fans might know for their work on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Escayg recently posted an image of a gorgeous scenic landscape on their Instagram, but eyes weren’t drawn to the shimmering waters or lush greenery, but the cannon mounted against the wall towards the forefront of the picture.

The caption was particularly vague and simply read: “Research…” prompting a lot of speculation from fans as to what this could be hinting at.

Given the scenery and the cannon though the obvious answer is another Uncharted game. Possibly Uncharted 5. Everything lines up.

The last time we got an Uncharted game was 2017, which just so happened to be Escayg’s own Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. It was favoured amongst both critics and players so bringing Escayg back to lead another game feels like a no-brainer.

One Small Problem…

While the prospect of a new Uncharted game is very fun to think about, the caption saying “research” would imply the project is very early in development. It’s likely still in the planning stages.

This of course means we won’t be seeing it for quite some time, if it’s actually being made at all. As always we need to take it all with a pinch of salt in case it’s actually a tease for something else.

Looking on the bright side, the game being in early production would also imply it’s being made for the PlayStation 6, and honestly it’d make a solid launch title depending on what other games are planned for the system.
