Uncharted OG Trilogy Remake Unites Players of Naughty Dog Series

Come on, Sony

Uncharted fans are united over a potential remake of the original trilogy.

The Uncharted series still remains as one of the most popular PlayStation franchises to play these days, even though it’s been eight years since the last entry.

Although we’ve heard rumours about Uncharted 5 several times over the years, it’s potential remakes of the original trilogy that has fans foaming at their mouths.

“Do you guys think Naughty Dog should release the whole Uncharted series in the new TLOU game engine graphics?” writes one fan over on the Uncharted Reddit page, referring to the remake of The Last of Us that Naughty Dog did back in 2022.

“I would f***ing cry,” writes another fan in the comments. “Being able to experience the entire saga with beautiful, updated graphics would be the greatest. I wouldn't leave my house for a year lol.”

Uncharted 1 really needs a remake imo. It hasn't aged as well as the others,” writes another fan. I certainly agree there.

However, some disagreed that these original games need remakes at all.

“I’d much rather they make another five or six hour spinoff game like Lost Legacy,” writes another fan in the post comments.

“Nah, I honestly prefer the slightly stylised art and vibrant colours of the PS3 games over the dull, realistic style of modern day Naughty Dog games,” writes another.

The original Uncharted trilogy comprises the first three games that were released on PS3 between 2007 and 2011: Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception.

They were later ported to PS4 under the Nathan Drake Collection by Bluepoint Games in 2015, and the collection is available on PS5 via backwards compatibility.

Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy received native PS5 remasters in 2022, where the games were also brought to PC some months later. But the original trilogy is a different beast; it simply can’t be played on PC at the moment.

Hopefully Sony and Naughty Dog are able to bring these games to PC at some point in the future. It’d be cool for players without PlayStation consoles to be able to experience the entire series in one place.

This is especially important considering both Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy have characters and events that directly reference previous games in the series. You can technically enjoy these games as standalone adventures, but you lose a lot of context which is a shame.
