The Last of Us surprise new release is everything I've ever wanted

This is a sight to behold.
As I’m sure you’re all well aware, HBO’s The Last of Us will air its season two finale in just a few days time meaning that it’s likely going to be several years until the show returns.
Season three isn’t expected to begin filming until 2026 and is thought to be longer than season two.
I’d hazard a guess then that a 2027 release date is most likely.

As teased by cast member Catherine O’Hara, the season will focus on Abby’s side of the story.
Given that Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin have been discussing that The Last of Us Part II could take another two seasons to adapt, I’m going to assume that we’ll only make it as far as the theatre again, albeit concluding that theatre scene.
Season four would then, in theory, follow the farm and Santa Barbara sections.
I digress though.
All of this is to say that while the show may be temporarily disappearing, you can now purchase something to fill the hole that’ll inevitably be left in your heart.
Taylor Guitars has announced a made-to-order replica of the guitar that Ellie plays in season two, including the beautiful moth inlay on the guitar’s neck.
The 314c six-string acoustic guitar can be purchased directly from Taylor, with a delivery turnaround time of six to eight weeks which isn’t all that bad.
What is perhaps slightly less ideal is the guitar’s price.
This guitar will set you back a whopping $2,799 so it’s clearly not going to be something every fan gets their hands on.
Then again, I shouldn’t be too surprised; Taylor is one of the best acoustic guitar brands out there so naturally, it was always going to be at a premium price.
If you want the full details, the guitar features a Tobacco Sunburst top treatment with full-body satin finish, a solid spruce top and sapele body that “yield [a] clear, warm midrange voice”, and you’ll get a deluxe hardshell case too.
There’s no word on how long this option will remain available to order so if you do have the cash to splash, I’d get your order in sooner rather than later.
