The original Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis are coming to PlayStation Plus.
Announced during the latest State of Play event, it was revealed that Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis are both coming to PlayStation Plus Premium. This means that once they arrive, the original trilogy will be playable on modern consoles.
Resident Evil 2 was first released on the original PlayStation in 1998, and Capcom improved on its 1996 predecessor in almost every way.

For starters, it was much larger, mostly taking place in the Raccoon City Police Department, and starred a young Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
Resident Evil 2 offered a perfect blend of horror and action. Whereas Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, starring Jill Valentine, has far more action-oriented gameplay, though it still had plenty of horror, especially when being harassed by the Nemesis.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis took place just before the events of Resident Evil 2, as well as leading up to the destruction of Raccoon City when it was nuked in an attempt to kill all the zombies and mutated creatures. Oh, and it was a lame attempt by the US government to cover it up.
It will be interesting to see if those who purchased both games digitally on PSP, PS Vita and/or PlayStation 3 will have to buy the games again. This has been a previous benefit for some classic PS1 games, including Resident Evil: Director’s Cut.
While the gameplay will no doubt remain the same for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (which is how I want it to be), they will benefit from lush 4K visuals, save states and a rewind feature, both of which will come in handy for speed runners.
There is no set release date when Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will be coming to PlayStation Plus Premium, other than sometime this summer. We’ll update you when we learn more.
