In need of something to play on PlayStation 5? A further three generous demos have arrived on the PlayStation Store, including one for an exciting new post-apocalyptic release.
As always, you don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to engage with demos on the PlayStation Store; they’re not to be confused with PlayStation Plus’ Game Trials.
Let’s begin with arguably the most exciting of them all, Tides of Tomorrow.
This upcoming narrative adventure is the perfect blend of Fallout and Subnautica. Developed by Digixart and published by THQ Nordic, it sees players attempt to survive in a flooded world.
“As a deadly disease called Plastemia threatens to kill all living things, you must steel yourself to face the numerous challenges of a world on the brink of collapse,” the synopsis teases.

Players will trade with characters, sail through uncertain waters, and generally explore.
Uniquely, you can see the remnants of the actions of fellow players in brief “story links”, possibly shaping what it is you choose to do next, or not do.
The Tides of Tomorrow demo lasts for around 40 minutes, introducing the game’s core mechanics.
For the RPG fans out there, Nitro Gen Omega may be the game you’ll most want to sample.
Developed by DESTINYbit, this sandbox tactical RPG has an anime theme.
“Assemble your crew, customise your Mech, and lead them in cinematic turn-based battles through a world ruled by rogue AI. The bonds you forge will decide who survives,” the game’s description reads.
Players will traverse a hefty open-world, exploring settlements and machine lairs, while engaging in quests and “unexpected” events.

“Take on contracts, recruit new pilots, and shape your crew’s legend one battle at a time.” Combat uses turn-based mechanics.
Finally, you can try out Kamikaze Strike: FPV Drone, the lowest-rated of these three free offerings.
This is an action title featuring “fast-paced FPV missions” where players must guide a drone, dodge bullets, sneak past jammers, and ultimately crash into enemy territory.
“Master different drones, each with unique flight characteristics and explosive payloads. Upgrade and customise your fleet to fit your playstyle—whether you prefer fast and agile strikes or heavy, powerful attacks,” devs note.

Strangely, many of the demo’s ratings on PS5 are split between five stars and just one star, so it looks to be somewhat of a love or hate it experience.
Gaming is, as you’ll know, very pricey these days, so sampling these demos is the perfect way to see if you wish to pick up any of these games’ full releases.
