PlayStation Plus is about to lose one of the best RPGs ever, but you still have time to play and complete it. So, act fast!
One of the best aspects of subscribing to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers is the hundreds of video games that you can play from the ever-expanding and revolving library of goodness. Of course, you get other perks such as cloud streaming, movies, trials and more.
However, if there was a negative with the upper two tiers of PlayStation Plus, it is that many of its games, especially third-party AAA’s and indies, might not always remain on the service forever, because they often rotate for something new. Unlike PS Plus Essential, which will remain accessible in your library with an active subscription.
So, what is the epic sci-fi offering in question that is considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time, I hear you ask? The game is CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077.
When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched in 2020, it’s fair to say that it was somewhat of an utter mess. Especially if you attempted to play the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The launch of the game was so bad that Sony pulled it from the PlayStation Store, for it to later return in about six months.

Thankfully, over the following months and years, the folks at CD Projekt RED worked tirelessly to not only make Cyberpunk 2077 the game it was promised to be, but eventually, it probably exceeded a lot of expectations. So if you were initially put off by its woeful launch, it’s safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 is now a banger of an RPG.
Cyberpunk 2077 was last added to PlayStation Plus in July 2025, but now, a year later, it’s set to leave the Sony service, as predicted by Reddit user OliveOcelot.
“Would be a lil sad about Cyberpunk 2077, guess I’ll actually have to buy it now and finish this second playthrough before it’s removed,” said IceBandicooot.
“12 months since Banishers: Ghost of New Eden and Cyberpunk 2077. I still haven't got round to them,” added Leweegibo.
While it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, along with the other batch of games mentioned in the Reddit post, it’s most likely that Cyberpunk 2077 will leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. This is when the new additions will arrive.
Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
