If you’re looking to try an intergalactic space adventure without having to subscribe to services such as PS Plus then you’re in the right place.
It’s always handy to play free demos to essentially try-before-we-buy and part ways with our hard-earned cash, reducing the chances of us wasting our money.
That being said, subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass can also be great money-savers when compared to a monthly fee instead of buying one or two full-priced AAA games.

Check out the Star Wars Outlaws trailer below!
In 2024, Ubisoft released Star Wars Outlaws, created by the developers of The Division series, Massive Entertainment. Sure, the game wasn't in a great place for everyone at launch, but from what I’ve heard, it’s a much better game now.
In our review of Star Wars Outlaws, we said: “If you’re a fan of Star Wars, I’m confident the game will impress you, but if you’re familiar with the work Ubisoft has done in the past, it might feel a bit too safe for your liking.”

Whether it’s a case of too little, too late, we’ll just have to see. Thankfully, downloading its free playable demo on PlayStation 5 with no PS Plus needed is a great way to find out whether Star Wars Outlaws is your cup of tea.
In the Star Wars Outlaws demo, as Kay Vess, you’ll be able to explore parts of Tatooine, including the legendary Mos Eisley Cantina, with your trusty and cute little sidekick, Nix.
You can also partake in a select number of story missions, fight Tusken Raiders, travel on a speeder, engage in epic space dogfights and more.
The free playable demo of Star Wars Outlaws is also available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
