PlayStation users can now grab hundreds of games for the price of less than a coffee.
You may prefer to outright own your games, but if you’re a gamer on a budget then it might be worth your while to check one of the many various subscription services available to you.
These services can be useful because many of them are accessible for a small price, allowing you to rent your games at a fraction of the cost of a new release. Obviously, you don’t get to keep the games once your subscription expires or they leave the service, but that’s the trade-off.
EA Play is one such service, and has been around for over a decade. However, it’s only been available on PlayStation hardware since 2019.

The service essentially gives you access to every game released by Electronic Arts that’s available to play on modern systems, aside from a few recent releases.
You won’t be getting access to Battlefield 6 or EA Sports FC 26 on the service yet, but you can play older bangers such as Dead Space and Mass Effect.

What is the offer?
EA is now running a promotion where a 1-month subscription—which normally costs £5.99—is now available for £0.99. That’s an 83% savings, and not a bad way to spend a month if you manage to get through a few games.
Other games available on EA Play include Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, It Takes Two, and many Need for Speed games.
The offer lasts until 17th November, 2025 at 18:00 GMT, so you’ve still got a week to decide if you’d like to take the plunge.
There is a little warning we’d like to inform you about though, in relation to how game licences work on PlayStation consoles.
If you already have redeemed a game via PlayStation Plus Essential, and then redeem that very same game on EA Play, your licence will be overwritten.
What this means is that if you then let your EA Play subscription expire but retain your PlayStation Plus Essential subscription, you won’t have access to the games that you had previously redeemed on PS Plus.
For example, games like Dead Space, It Takes Two, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition were all previously available on PlayStation Plus Essential. So, if you’ve redeemed them before, try and avoid claiming them as part of EA Play in case you'd like to keep your access.
