PlayStation Plus subscribers have access to two of the best PlayStation games ever made, the latter of which being one of the most overlooked sequels of all time.

Last week was The Last Of Us Day, celebrating the post-apocalyptic narrative-thriller and the impact it had on games in the same genre.

Love it or hate it you can’t deny it’s made a name for itself with both the video games and the HBO TV series.

While the first game was heavily praised for its story and characters the sequel was treated much differently.

I’ll be honest I played the first game and loved it, but seeing the reactions to the sequel made me delay my playthrough for quite a long time. That said, when I eventually did sit down to play it I was pleasantly surprised, and would confidently argue that it’s a brilliant and misunderstood sequel. I can acknowledge the faults though and I’d still say the first game is my favourite overall, but The Last Of Us Part II is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe.

If you don’t believe me you can try the game for yourself on PlayStation Plus right now, and taking a look at the subreddits the game’s inclusion has gone down a treat with subscribers.

One example comes from Reddit user Delicious_Maize9656, who made a post saying: “Last Halloween I got The Last of Us Part I Remastered. It was a special moment when the credits rolled, I thought to myself "Wow, what an experience" I remember hoping that next Halloween I'd get The Last of Us Part II Remastered on ps plus and today that dream came true (oh and Alan Wake 2 too)”

Unlike the trial you could play of the game on PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers now have access to the full game, and many are hoping to take advantage until PlayStation decides to pull it from the service.

“I never pulled the trigger on Part II, and I never actually got around playing Part I Remastered either (only the original in 2013)” began one commenter, “now is a perfect time to play both, and remastered as well. But I guess I am the "perfect customer" for the service as well. But boy do I get my money's worth.”

The Last Of Us Part II Remastered is available on your PlayStation Plus Extra subscription right now.
