This Friday will mark the latest edition of The Last of Us Day; it's a day to celebrate the fan-favourite post-apocalyptic franchise held on the day the outbreak started within its universe.
Each year, announcements are made with regards to the franchise.
That can be something major like a new trailer, or something as small as a merch drop. You just never know what you're going to get.
We've still got a couple of sleeps to go until this year's edition but PlayStation has kicked off the fun early during tonight's State of Play.

It's been revealed that The Last of Us Part II will be launching on PlayStation Plus this Friday.
It'll be available to both extra and premium tier users and if you own a PlayStation 5, yes, it's The Last of Us Part II Remastered that you'll receive.
That means you'll gain access to the fantastic No Return roguelike mode.
In my review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, I awarded the game a perfect score of 10, writing, “To put it simply, The Last of Us Part II Remastered is utter perfection. Naughty Dog has the advantage that it’s working with what is already one of the most-awarded games of all-time. The Last of Us Part II Remastered is so much more than a new lick of paint though.”

“While those new bells and whistles do boost the main game’s intensity and immersion, making this the definitive way to experience this stage of Ellie’s story, it’s far from the only way in which this release shines.”
It’ll be interesting to see what else Naughty Dog has in store for us on Friday, if anything at all.
There’s not a new game in development as far as we’re aware, and it’s very early days for season three of the TV series so I don’t even think there’ll be casting news.
I’m expecting it to be a quiet celebration this year, but I’d love to be wrong.

On the topic of PlayStation Plus, The Last of Us Part II Remastered wasn’t the only title confirmed to be joining the service this evening.
Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon will be joining the essential tier in October, so they’ll be available to all subscribers.
I don’t need to tell you how much of a win Alan Wake 2 is.
As for the premium tier, Tekken 3, Soul Calibur 3 and Tomb Raider Anniversary will all be joining the classics catalogue later this year although exact details beyond this were not confirmed.
