PlayStation Plus users can currently bag themselves some extra PlayStation Stars points. It’s oh so simple to do and once you’ve accrued enough, you can exchange them for store credit. What’s not to love?

PlayStation Plus has landed itself in hot water as of late. Subscribers were not at all pleased with recent price hikes, despite the addition of extra perks for premium tier users like cloud streaming and the Sony Pictures Core catalogue. Add in several lacklustre game drops, and PlayStation Plus subscribers require a real pick me up. I’m not sure that this is that. What we really need is a stellar AAA game drop, but perhaps I can alleviate some of the frustration by filling you in on how you can nab some easy extra PlayStation Stars points.

Sable landed on PlayStation Plus this month.

As I’m sure you’re aware, December’s essential tier line-up consists of LEGO 2K Drive, Sable, and PowerWash Simulator - three very fun games. Well, as a part of the ongoing Season of Play event, if you redeem and play any of those games, you can bag yourself 50 extra PlayStation Stars points.

I’ll be the first to admit that I often forget about PlayStation Stars. I noticed I had quite a healthy points balance the other day without even trying. By playing certain games and making store purchases (including PlayStation Plus membership purchases), you’ll acquire points. These can be redeemed as store credit or in exchange for free games etc.

50 points may not sound like a lot but like I said, you’ll likely have accumulated quite a few without noticing. For example, I’ve just discovered that I’m 250 points shy of being eligible for some store credit without me actively doing anything to earn them. Those 50 easy-to-grab free points have pushed me much closer to the finish line.

You need 1,250 points to get £5 of store credit or 5,000 points for £20 of store credit. You can also get Gris for 4,250 points, A Short Hike for 2,000 points, Stardew Valley for 3,750 points, or Dredge for 6,250 points - just to name a few. It’s well worth keeping an eye on PlayStation Stars.
