PlayStation Plus subscribers will want to play these four games ASAP before they leave the service in January 2026.

Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service offers a lot of bang for your buck, regardless of whether you subscribe to the Essential, Extra or Premium tier. Of course, the higher the tier that you subscribe to, the more games you’ll have to play, and more perks will be available.

For example, with the basic PlayStation Plus Essential tier, you typically get three games per month, as well as the standard online gaming, discounts, free DLC, and so on. However, with the Premium tier, you get tons of games across multiple generations (including retro), cloud streaming, a selection of movies and more.

That being said, as great as all the additional perks are with both the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, it does have one major drawback, and that’s games will come and go on rotation, to make way for something new.

Yet, with PlayStation Plus Essential, while having fewer games and perks available, once those three or four monthly games are added to your library, they will remain accessible as long as you have an active subscription. Unless Sony or a third-party publisher decides to remove it from sale, which is rare.

These Games are Leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in January 2026

As brought to our attention by Reddit user PSPlusUpdates, going by the criteria of when third-party titles are added to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, estimates have been made, and in most cases, they hit the nail on the proverbial head. Those games are:

  • Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
  • Monopoly Plus
  • Sayonara Wild Hearts
  • SD Gundam Battle Alliance

The Reddit user also points out that, with there only being four games currently on the exit list, more games will likely be added in the coming weeks. So it might be worth keeping tabs on this thread.

After checking the PlayStation Store, at least one of the above games is currently discounted, and that’s Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. The Deluxe Edition (which comes with bonus DLC) is reduced from £49.99 to £14.99.

However, this discount expires on 22 December 2025. So if you feel that you might not complete the story or get 100 percent completion before it leaves PlayStation Plus, it might be worth picking up sooner rather than later.
