Another huge open-world game that’s available on PlayStation Plus has been recommended to users.

With hundreds of games available on PlayStation Plus, it’s no surprise that quite a few of the most popular ones tend to be huge open-world games.

These are games that suck up a lot of your free time, and ensure that you’re getting the most value out of your subscription. Considering that services like this or Xbox Game Pass can be expensive, it’s best to get your money’s worth.

One open-world in particular that is being recommended by users is Immortals Fenyx Rising, an Ubisoft game that was added to PlayStation Plus Extra in March 2023 and has stayed on the platform ever since.

Also available on Ubisoft+, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an open world game inspired by Greek mythology, in which you play as the mortal Fenyx, who must stop the evil Typhon after his escape from the underworld.

The game was originally devised during the development of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, where an internal bug caused the player’s crew to turn into giant cyclops. With Odyssey releasing to rave reviews, Ubisoft decided to commission the game and put it into development.

As such, many players consider it a decent game to play after finishing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It also shares a lot of its DNA with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Immortals Fenyx Rising’s open world has you exploring the Golden Isle, a set of regions inspired by classical Greek mythology and featuring different characters and creatures from these stories.

One thread on PlayStation Plus recommended the game to a player asking for a new open world game to try. After writing that they didn’t want any of the “very well known ones like Ghost of Tsushima and Witcher 3,” user Fun_Awareness4928 was recommended Immortals Fenyx Rising.

“I second that. Fun game,” wrote another fan in the replies to the post.

“+1 I like this game, bought it on release. but consider it an Assassins Creed lite, not BOTW,” a third person wrote in the same thread.

Others in the same thread also recommended different open world games, including Batman: Arkham Knight, Days Gone, and The Outer Worlds, the latter of which has a sequel coming out later this month.

Although Immortals Fenyx Rising proved to be quite popular with players, it’s reported that Ubisoft allegedly cancelled a sequel back in 2023, leaving the future of the franchise uncertain.
