The latest free open world game, landing on PlayStation Plus, is taking the platform by storm and starting to break records.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you might have missed DayZ arriving on the Essential tier and above.

I know I did, but it hasn’t slipped past millions of players who have added the game to their library, with it being claimed by over 1.3 million players.

The popular open-world survival game has been out for many years by now, with it always remaining one of the most popular games in the genre, combining harsh survival mechanics and zombie slaying in a PvEvP realm.

Now it has arrived on PlayStation Plus, millions more players have access to the game, and they’re breaking the servers.

The developers took to Twitter to thank the millions of new players for jumping in, and they spoke on the current server issues, too.

The team commented, “To those who experienced server issues last night, we sincerely apologize. We deployed 300+ new servers in preparation, but they were at capacity. More servers are rolling out soon to accommodate the influx and smooth out your survival experience.”

With over a million new players claiming the game, it brought 300,000 ‘freshies,’ a DayZ term for new players, into the servers of Chernarus and Livonia.

This isn’t the first time DayZ has appeared on PlayStation, but the inclusion in PlayStation Plus will put it in front of millions of players who might not have spent the money to take a chance on the game.

DayZ is known for having different servers with unique rules and settings, and the developers have made sure players can find an ideal server for their playstyle.

It was a nice moment to see the social media team from RUST congratulate the DayZ folks on Twitter, too.
