PlayStation Plus subscribers are urging gamers to check out this highly regarded free game that could consume 800 hours of your life.

PlayStation Plus offers hundreds of video games from AAA big hitters to indie darlings and retro classics of yesteryear. Of course, the amount of games available to you will depend on the tier you subscribe to, but the service is great value nonetheless.

However, perhaps one of the best moments as a PlayStation Plus (or Xbox Game Pass) subscriber is discovering a game that you either knew nothing about or expected nothing from. One such game has been recommended by a Reddit user.

“What's the most underrated PlayStation Plus game from the past two years?” asked Scrimpleton.

Some of the suggestions were Nobody Saves the World, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Days Gone and Immortals Fenyx Rising to name a few (none of which were released within the last two years, I should add).

One other game, said to potentially consume 800 hours of your life though is 2019’s Slay the Spire, recommended by MMoore98, an indie title developed and published by Mega Crit.

“We fused card games and roguelikes together to make the best single-player deck builder we could,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, discover relics of immense power, and Slay the Spire!”

“I just bought the board game for Slay the Spire. I almost got to the first boss of the first act last night and so far, I am very pleased with it,” replied Paganoma. “I’ve put about 800 hours into Slay the Spire on PS Plus.”

“Do you really think it’s underrated? It’s widely regarded as a masterpiece,” asked nine_inch_owls, which is a fair point, because Slay the Spire has scored 89 on Metacritic and has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam.

I assume the reason why Paganoma believes that Slay the Spire can be considered underrated is that they may have noticed not many friends or the community talking about the game.

Slay the Spire is included in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, and is also on Xbox Game Pass. So if you’ve never played this indie delight and you subscribe to either service, it might be worth checking out.

Slay the Spire is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
