One of the biggest RPGs of this year is now available to play for free on PS5 if you have PlayStation Plus.
We’re halfway through 2025 and it’s been a banger of a year so far for game releases, especially if you’re an RPG fan.
Games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered are great RPG throwbacks to earlier times, while Avowed and Assassin’s Creed Shadows have been fun modern interpretations of the AAA RPG format.

Now, a free trial for another big RPG released earlier this year has just landed on PlayStation 5.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 now has a trial for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, allowing you a taste of the full game if you’re on the fence about buying it.
The trial includes four hours of the full game, which doesn’t sound like a lot when you factor in that playthroughs can go for over a hundred hours, but it should be enough to sway you either way.
Once you’ve exhausted all four hours, you’ll be able to purchase the game to continue your playthrough.

Unfortunately, if you’re on the PS Plus Essential or Extra tiers, you won’t be able to access the game, as trials are limited to Premium subs only.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is developed by Czech game developer Warhorse Studios, and was released in February earlier this year.
It received lots of acclaim, earning 96% on OpenCritic and selling three million copies worldwide.
As the year goes on, it’s likely Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will sweep up during awards season.

However, with other games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows receiving lots of praise, it’s going to be a competitive one for RPGs.
And that’s not the end of it, either—more RPGs are coming towards the end of the year, including Borderlands 4, Ghost of Yōtei, and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2.
