PlayStation Plus drops Christmas freebies and surprises for subscribers

Christmas is just around the corner, and PlayStation is about to start its celebrations with discounts and freebies for all PlayStation Plus subscribers.

It’s the season of giving, and while PlayStation Plus gives its subscribers a lot of games to play, it’s often met with fake smiles and politely asking if the receipt is included in the box.

While the past few months have been rather disappointing, with lacklustre additions to PlayStation Plus, new features unfortunately locked behind higher-priced tiers, and price hikes for all members, there’s still time to turn things around. PlayStation’s Season Of Play event kicks off today, bringing plenty of offers and activities for players to get involved with.

Kicking things off with some freebies, PlayStation Plus subscribers can redeem free avatars for their PS5 and PS4 consoles and earn bonus points on PlayStation Stars. A competition has also been arranged with some incredible prizes, one of which being a brand-new PS5 Slim plus a 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Moving swiftly on to some discounts, if you’re in the market for some PlayStation apparel, you’re in luck as you can currently take advantage of a discount code to get 15% off gear from the PlayStation Store. This includes hats, t-shirts, coats etc, all of which can receive a discount when you use the code SEASONOFPLAY15.

Last but not least you can play a few of the latest games for free, even if you don’t have a PlayStation Plus membership. This weekend, starting 9 December, you can play EA Sports FC24, NBA 2K24 and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for free.

The PlayStation Season Of Play event started today and will run through to 5 January 2024, so you have plenty of time to take advantage of everything your membership offers.
