It rolls around so quickly, doesn’t it?

It’s time for the latest round of PlayStation Plus offerings; we’re midway through the month of May which means today, it’s the additions to the extra and premium catalogues that Sony has unveiled.

In total, subscribers will gain 10 games this month, and those will drop on 20 May.

Before we dive in, allow me to remind you of this month’s essential tier titles.

All PlayStation Plus subscribers can currently nab Ark: Survival Ascended, Balatro, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

I’d say Balatro, the 2024 indie hit, is the standout title there.

Without further ado, here are the titles joining the extra tier this month: Sand Land (PS4, PS5), Soul Hackers 2 (PS5), Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted - Full Time Edition (PS4, PS5), Battlefield V (PS4), S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Legends of the Zone Trilogy (PS4, PS5), Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (PS4, PS5), Humankind (PS4, PS5), Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (PS5), and Gloomhaven Mercenaries Edition (PS4, PS5).

The premium tier will then gain just Battle Engine Aquila (PS4, PS5).

That’s a pretty average line-up, if you ask me, but each to their own. I’m not entirely sure which is going to prove particularly popular with subscribers.

Perhaps Sand Land?

In our review of the game, GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley awarded it a score of eight, writing, “Player exploration is actively encouraged by a gorgeously animated world that’s filled with sights and sounds to keep you engaged, even having that Zelda: Breath Of The Wild feel of ‘Hey, what’s that over there?’ as you get side-tracked for the umpteenth time.”

He continued, “While I wish it would have baked its ideas for a little longer under the desert sun, I’d happily recommend this to any and all anime fans, especially those who love the work of Akira Toriyama.”

I’ll be checking out the cosy Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life but I can’t say personally that anything here was on my wishlist.

As a reminder, these will drop on 20 May so there isn’t too long to wait.
