PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting an insane haul this month in terms of Essential games, but at the cost of others leaving the Extra game catalogue.

A total of five games will be granted to subscribers for absolutely nothing, a historic move from Sony as usually you’d only get three, maybe four.

As usual though when new games are added it means others are sure to be removed, one of which is a mind-bending banger you need to play before it’s gone.

11-11 Memories Retold was released in 2018, developed by Aardman Animations, Digixart and published by Bandai Namco.

The description says: “11th November 1916, a young photographer leaves Canada to join the western front in Europe. The same day, a German technician is told that his son is missing in action. Both want to preserve their humanity and come back alive to their loved ones.”

This is a very unique game, and the standout feature if you will has to be the game’s artstyle, exactly what you’d expect from a game Aardman Animations had a hand in.

While being incredibly colourful for a game about the harrows of war the way the world reacts to itself almost makes the whole thing look blurry, but in a good way as strange as that may sound.

Be warned it’s got a slow pace to it, but it’s a great story and the legendary Elijah Wood is part of the cast, so it’s one for the Lord Of The Rings fans.

It also comes highly recommended from those who’ve played it, many of whom are urging others to take advantage of it being on PlayStation Plus.

“I adore the art style of this game” one fan said.”The game is slow but it's such a cute story. Definitely a good cozy game. Fully enjoyed this title.”

“As others have said; this is a really good game,” said another. “Graphically I don't think it would trouble a PS2 very much, but the art direction, voice acting and sheer heart of it all means it's worth a go.

“Some light puzzling, a dash of exploration and a big dose of how hellish the war was in many aspects. Might seem basic at first, but definitely worth persevering with.”

Now you haven’t got long to give 11-11 Memories Retold a try before it leaves PlayStation Plus, as it’ll depart from the service on 16 December.
