PlayStation Plus reveals bonus Marvel freebie you won't want to miss

Sony has just revealed that two Marvel freebies will be available through PlayStation Plus this week, and Spider-Man fans aren’t going to want to miss out on what’s on offer.

The PlayStation giant just updated MCU-lovers on a couple of Marvel Rivals-related exclusives that are making their way to PS Plus over on the PlayStation Blog.

Although Marvel Rivals is set to drop on PC, Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 on December 6, the Spider-Man content that Sony has revealed will be exclusive to PlayStation.

The first of these is a special skin for Peni Parker; the VEN#M suit.

The VEN#M suit first appeared in issue #2 of Edge of Spider-Geddon, under the control of Earth-14512’s Addy Brock.

Not gonna lie, it’s a sick design (and I kinda feel bad that PC and Xbox players won’t have access to it).

The other exclusive skin is for Peter Parker himself, although technically the outfit never actually belonged to Peter.

I mean, it belonged to one of his clones so… I guess it did? Debate it in the comments, nerds.

Take a look at Marvel Rivals in action below.

The Scarlet Spider skin in Marvel Rivals is modelled after Kaine Parker (better known simply as Kaine in the comics) and not Ben Reilly’s version of Scarlet Spider… who is also a clone of Peter Parker… did you just straight up run out of ideas in the 90s, Marvel?

That’s not all though, as Marvel Rivals is also getting the PlayStation 5 Pro treatment.

“Thanks to the powerful GPU capabilities and the new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology,” stated NetEase’s producer Stephen Wu, “Marvel Rivals introduces a new Pro Mode on the PS5 Pro. This mode targets a stable 60fps and deliver higher 4K resolutions.”

“In addition to Lumen Global Illumination, it also features support Lumen Reflections, offering more immersive and dynamic lighting effects for an enhanced visual experience. PS5 Pro also offers higher resolutions in 120fps High Frame Rate Mode.”

Assumedly, considering Sony is bragging about this on their blog, Marvel Rivals won’t experience the same issues that some of the other PS5 Pro “Enhanced” games have.
