PlayStation Plus subscribers are in awe over what is one of the best months the Sony service has had in quite a while.

For the most part, PlayStation Plus offers good value for money, regardless of which tier you subscribe to, whether it’s Essential, Extra, or Premium. Sure, the higher the tier, the more games on offer, but there’s usually plenty of bang for your buck nonetheless.

Yesterday, following a week or so of rumours, Sony officially confirmed that the fantastic Silent Hill 2 remake, released in 2024, is included in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers. However, the remake from Bloober Team was far from alone.

In my review of Silent Hill 2, I said: “Bloober Team has treated this remake with the utmost respect, and despite that forced stealth section, this is about a perfect remake of Silent Hill 2 and everything I could have hoped for. Bloober Team has finally realised its potential, and its remake of Silent Hill 2 deserves its place amongst the upper echelon of modern survival horror greats.”

I suppose some could criticise the fact that the games offered in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium weren't in double figures, with a lower than usual number of eight titles, but I think this is certainly a case of quality over quantity.

Joining the Silent Hill 2 remake is another remake of 2024, namely Until Dawn, as well as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the OG PlayStation classic, Tekken 3 and more. It’s fair to say that subscribers are happy with what’s included in PS Plus Extra and Premium for October 2025.

“Hell yes. Silent Hill 2 and V Rising have been on my wishlist for ages. And As Dusk Falls is supposed to be really good. What a great month,” exclaimed Reddit user H3000.

“Big big big month!” declared TGD69.

“This feels too good to be true, one of the best months of PS Plus,” replied Delicious_Maize9656.

“The best month in years!” claimed RedPandaParadox.

However, Mibunny provided the following warning to those who may have already downloaded Yakuza: Like a Dragon when it was included in PlayStation Plus Essential a while back.

“For those who've gotten Yakuza: Like a Dragon as part of Essential, make sure to only download the game from your library to NOT have the Extra license overwrite it.” If you do that, the game will leave your library when Sony eventually removes it from Extra and Premium to make way for something new.

All of the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for October 2025 will be available this coming Tuesday on the 21st.
