PlayStation unveils its shiny new hardware that is out tomorrow, but you may need to act fast to avoid missing out.
Sony has been releasing so many PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers over the last year or so that it makes me feel like that Sabrina the Teenage Witch meme, where she’s been offered loads of pancakes, making it impossible to keep up.
That being said, I would assume that there’s a very good reason why Sony is using every opportunity to serve us a new DualSense controller, and that’s because we keep buying them (I’m guilty as charged for the most part).

Last year, we were treated to one of the best platform games in years, Astro Bot on the PlayStation 5, developed by Team Asobi.
In our review, GAMINGbible’s Kate said: “Astro Bot is a monumental triumph that I’m not going to stop thinking about for a very, very long time.”
Alongside the launch of Astro Bot was a gorgeous DualSense controller with its look inspired by the endlessly cute little PlayStation mascots. However, much like many other limited-edition DualSense controllers, this one sold out fast.
“This controller was crafted by our techno-magician designers at Sony Interactive Entertainment. And since the first controller proved so popular, we have brought it back with a new joyful twist to the touch pad!” said Sony when the “Joyful” controller was revealed earlier this year.
If you missed out on that controller or just want to add a new one to your collection, then you might be pleased to know that the second Astro Bot limited edition DualSense controller goes on sale tomorrow.
This controller is almost identical to the last, apart from having the Astro Bot eyes fully wide open on the touchpad; these eyes are squinted, giving the DualSense a more “Joyful” vibe. Another difference is that it’s most likely going to sell for £74.99, rather than £69.99, the price of the previous controller.

Pre-orders for the limited edition ‘Astro Bot Joyful DualSense’ will go live tomorrow at 10am local time on the PlayStation Direct website, as well as participating retailers.
Having picked up a few of the limited edition DualSense controllers myself, I’d recommend setting an alarm a couple of minutes before pre-orders go live. Then hopefully, you’ll manage to get one before a grubby scalper gets its mitts on them all.
Astro Bot is available now on the PlayStation 5, and if, for whatever reason, you’ve never played it, you need to change that ASAP.
