Rumours regarding the upcoming PlayStation 6 continue to swirl online and one Youtuber and insider has now shared some interesting details about what we can expect from Sony’s next hardware launch.
Although it has not yet been officially confirmed by Sony, we can safely assume that the PlayStation 6 (or whatever it may be called) is on the way but what can the next-gen console offer us that the current PlayStation 5 cannot?
Well, according to well-known insider and Youtuber Moore’s Law is Dead, Sony is currently working on multiple different pieces of hardware: the base PS6, the PS6 S and a handheld.
The PlayStation 6 S will work the same way as the Xbox Series S in which it will be a smaller and less powerful version of the main next-gen console.

However, it is the handheld that we will be discussing today as it will reportedly borrow a well-known feature from the Nintendo Switch.
According to Moore’s Law is Dead, the PlayStation handheld, codenamed Canis, will be able to be docked much like the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
If true, this will mean that players will be able to connect their PlayStation handheld to an external TV or monitor and if it follows Nintendo, this may even reward it better performance when in this mode.
The video goes into all of the technical jargon about what specs we could expect to find on the PlayStation handheld but it seems as though Sony is ready to go head-to-head with Nintendo in the battle of the handhelds.

Although this information has not been confirmed by Sony, potential customers have already been sharing their thoughts about the PlayStation handheld.
“Insane that everything is becoming a Switch,” user GoldenTriforceLink shared.
Another user added, “Definitely a day 1 buy for me if it's fully backwards compatible with all PS4 and most PS5 games.”
It remains to be seen what the PlayStation handheld will offer players that the Nintendo Switch 2 cannot but in the meantime, we will just have to wait to hear official news.
