Four new games just got added to the PlayStation Plus monthly lineup for PlayStation 5 users (and some of them work on PlayStation 4, I guess).
Thing is… subscribers don’t seem particularly impressed by the games on offer, and I can hardly blame them, considering the contents of the lineup.
As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the four free games for June for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers are Alone in the Dark, BombRush Cyberfunk, NBA 2K25, and Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

If you’re looking at that list and thinking “people pay a monthly subscription for this rubbish?” then you’ll be unsurprised to learn that everyone on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit agrees.
“Giving out sports games and Destiny (what are theses? Expansions? Add one? Idk Idc) just seem like such a throw away for the monthly game”, commented user Fruhmann.
“Like they should be part of that month's library update and not a game I get to keep.”
“My PS+ subscription is ending June 6. I'm also on PS4 so it's been extra bad, so I'm definitely not renewing it”, replied user WodanGungnir.

Yeah, I think the commenters are spot on this month.
BombRush Cyberfunk is a great game, do not get me wrong, and the Alone in the Dark reboot looks fun enough (although you wouldn't catch me paying full price for it).
But NBA 2K25 is only there to milk some extra microtransactions out of it before NBA 2K26 drops, and a Destiny 2 expansion? Really? C’mon man. DLC isn’t a game.
Given all of the negative reaction to Sony increasing the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions, you’d think they’d at least improve the quality of PlayStation Plus Essential monthly titles but, nope, they only seem to be getting worse if anything.

Really can’t blame anyone who wants to cancel, in light of this extremely weak offering.
