PlayStation 6 first game confirmed in job listing, here we go

Holy PS6!

One of the first PlayStation 6 games has already been confirmed, at least according to a job listing.

Despite Sony not officially announcing the PlayStation 6, we all know it’s as inevitable as Marvel’s Thanos. After all, following the original PlayStation in 1994, every generation console has carried a number, so the PS6 won't be an exception.

Furthermore, Sony has already registered the trademark for the PlayStation 6 as well as consoles leading up to the PlayStation 10. It might be a bit too early to jump the gun as to what games will be released on the PS6, however, it might be the likely home of Uncharted 5 and Mass Effect 5, at least.

That being said, as reported by Push Square, a job listing was spotted on Warner Bros. for a developer to work on a new single-player Batman game.

The job listing in question is for a senior core engine programmer at Batman: Arkham team, Rocksteady Studios in London to work on an upcoming “AAA title” using Unreal Engine 5.

The would-be applicant will be assisting with the new Batman game and will help to “enable the team to deliver the highest quality game experience on our target hardware, including high-end PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the next-generation of consoles.”

It’s exciting news that Rocksteady Studios is going back to what it does best, creating fantastic Batman games, especially following the massive flop that was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear of further developments of what Rocksteady Studio is up to next.

In the meantime, you can play the Batman: Arkham series on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Well, apart from Batman: Arkham Origins, that’s not available on Switch.
