The PlayStation 5 has a few hidden features that’ll really change your gameplay experience. Not drastically, but enough to hopefully see the difference.
If you want your games to have crisp and detailed graphics you’ll have to do more than just tweak the in-game settings, you’ll have to dive into the console itself, or your TV.
You’d be surprised how many PlayStation 5 owners don’t take these settings into account, such as Dipstickpattywack on Reddit who wasn’t taking advantage of 4K HDR for the longest time.
This was apparently due to their HDMI TV having the “deep colour” option disabled, which prevented it from living up to its full potential.

It’s important to remember that your PlayStation console and your TV operate on different settings. The type of TV or monitor you have will determine what kind of graphics you can play with as you’re definitely not getting 4K if you’ve somehow hooked your PS5 up to a CRT TV…
If your TV/monitor is capable of displaying your games at 4K with 120fps, HDR, or whatever else there’s a good chance you’ll need to play around with the settings to make it happen, and then make sure your PS5’s settings sync up to it.
Most of the time your console can automatically adjust the picture but I find it doesn’t always work as intended, so sometimes a more hands-on approach is best.
This goes for more than just your PlayStation 5 as well, your Xbox console will have the same problem if you don’t keep an eye on the settings.

So if you’re looking to get the very best out of your new-gen consoles, and why wouldn’t you I’m sure they were expensive, take a look at the settings and make sure its optimised for the best overall experience.
