It’s always nice to get a surprise free download for a video game you will love and one such freebie is available to claim now on PlayStation 5.

The game in question is the 2020 title developed by One-O-One Games and published by Daedelic Entertainment, none other than the haunting narrative indie adventure, The Suicide of Rachel Foster.

Check out The Suicide of Rachel Foster trailer below!

“Set in 1993 in Lewis & Clark County, Montana, The Suicide of Rachel Foster tells the haunting story of Nicole, a young woman returning to her family's hotel to settle old affairs,” reads the synopsis of the game.

“What starts as a journey to fulfil her mother’s last wishes quickly spirals into a chilling investigation as she uncovers dark secrets buried deep within the walls of the old mountain lodge. Assisted by Irving, a young FEMA agent, Nicole unravels a tale of love, loss, and eerie ghostly presence, creating a deeply immersive and emotional experience.”

As the name of the game clearly suggests, The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a mature story and that should be considered going in. However, it is a very memorable experience and a game that I would recommend.

It is a very slow-burn story, similar to the likes of What Remains of Edith Finch, Gone Home and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The story will present some scenarios with multiple choice and sometimes, a choice can lead to an unexpected outcome.

If you already own The Suicide of Rachel Foster on PlayStation 4, then as of right now, you can download the free new-gen update on PlayStation 5.

The free PlayStation 5 update brings adaptive triggers and haptic feedback compatibility for the DualSense controller, upscaled textures, a 60 frames-per-second boost and Dolby Atmos support.
