Marvel's Spider-Man 2 almost saw Miles wear a symbiote suit

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 almost took another path which would've seen Miles wear a symbiote suit.

It has been just over a month since we saw the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with the web-slinging adventure garnering a Game of the Year nomination at this year's Game Awards. What you may not know is that one actor has revealed the game almost saw Miles Morales wear his very own symbiote suit.

A Spider-Man game wouldn’t be complete without a few of our favourite villains and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was no exception. The Insomniac Games title welcomed Venom to the fray and it was his actor, Tony Todd who revealed some previously unknown facts about the sequel’s development.

Check out the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer below!

Speaking at the Fan Expo San Francisco this weekend, Todd revealed that he had recorded lines with Miles who just happened to be wearing a symbiote suit. The symbiote suit, or ‘Venom Suit’, was worn by both Peter Parker and Harry Osbourne in various parts of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but it seems as though Miles was originally meant to join in. Why his was removed however remains a mystery.

Not only did Todd spill the beans on the potential suit but he also revealed that Insomniac used only roughly 10% of Venom’s recorded dialogue. The panel which was transcribed by one Twitter user reported Todd sharing this news which has led fans to believe the missing 90% of recordings will be used for a future project.

However, Insomniac could have just cut down a lot of it and Venom’s role could be over in the games. I’m going to stay hopeful though!

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 selling over five million copies in eleven days, it has quickly become the PlayStation’s 5 fastest selling exclusive ever. So it is perhaps no wonder that fans are also speculating on a third instalment. However, with Insomniac yet to confirm it, we will have to hold out hope. What we do know is that Miles will become THE Spider-Man in the future of the series so if that’s not confirmation of another game, I don’t know what is.
