Following a leak at Insomniac Games back in 2023 which revealed some previously unannounced Marvel games that were in development, one possible title stood out more than most.

The leak saw multiple hidden projects released online such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and even an X-Men game that is slated for sometime in 2030.

However, it was a spin-off Venom game which got fans excited with the title expected to feature more of the symbiote we met in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Set to be developed at Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Venom will reportedly star Eddie Brock as the main protagonist as he continues in his host duties for symbiote Venom.

As Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players will know, Venom briefly starred in the 2023 title but fans have been eager to see more and, if this leak is true, a spin-off much like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, may be released over the next couple of years.

That definitely seems to be the opinion of MP1st who have recently shared a report over the future of this leaked project.

According to the website, Marvel’s Venom is still in active development at Insomniac Games and could be ready for a 2027 release date.

Previous reports have hinted at a 2025 release date but with the year almost over and with no mention of the game, this seems pretty unlikely.

Nevertheless, the Venom game is on the way and will star Eddie Brock as he goes head-to-head with Cletus Kasady.

Cletus Kasady, otherwise known as Carnage, was also teased in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during a brief side quest so it would make sense for the two to butt heads once more.

MP1st also goes on to claim that anti-venom will play a role in the upcoming game with Brock himself having control over it, allowing players to make the choice whether or not to be a hero or more of an anti-villain throughout the story.

Of course, this report must be taken with a pinch of salt as none of it has been confirmed by Insomniac Games itself.

However, there is no denying that fans would love to see more of Eddie and Venom in a standalone, spin-off game.

“God I really want this game to happen. Please man, it would be insane,” one user said earlier this year.

Let us hope that this report is true and that we will see Marvel’s Venom some time in 2027.
