It may be only coming up to a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released but thanks to a collection of leaked images, we have already seen our “first look” at its sequel.

Released in October 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was the hit sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Check out the launch trailer for the newest entry, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, below!

Telling the story of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, it followed the web-slinging duo as they took on infamous enemies such as Venom, Kraven the Hunter and Sandman to name a few.

Now almost a year on and with the news that Insomniac Games is hard at work on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, we have accidentally received our first look at an early build of the next instalment.

The early-build screenshots dropped on Twitter earlier this year and, as you can imagine, fans went wild.

However, with the third entry still being very much in early stages of development, the game looks about as finished as you would expect.

Needless to say, that hasn’t stopped some gamers from judging it as they seemingly don’t understand that this will not be what the finished product will look like.

The conversation kicked off over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours and it seemed as though fans were united with their thoughts.

“I hope people are able to understand the concept of an early build, the game isn't even in Alpha yet,” the top comment read.

“It's kind of funny to me that people can be plugged in enough to follow leaks like this but still get upset when it doesn't look like a finished game,” another comment added.

With some “fans” criticising its PlayStation 2-esque graphics and its similarity to the previous entries in the series, it does make you wonder about people’s understanding of the game development world.

Needless to say, the leaks have still caused some excitement for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 even though it may still be a few years until we can get our hands on it.
