Each month PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to a plethora of new titles regardless of the tier that they subscribe to. However, if you subscribe to the PS Plus Premium tier, you can enjoy classic PlayStation titles such as the newest surprise inclusion, which sees the return of Jak and Daxter.

Earlier this week, Sony announced the PlayStation Plus March 2024 titles for the Extra and Premium tiers. With the basic PS Plus Essential tier you get a handful of new titles each month as well as other perks such as discounts and of course, access to online multiplayer. If you subscribe to either PS Plus Extra or Premium, you get everything including in the Essential tier but with a much wider selection of PS5 and PS4 games to choose from.

Check out the Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier trailer below!

Yet, if you subscribe to the Premium tier you get additional benefits such as curated free movies, game trials, cloud streaming and more. Perhaps the most appealing perk of PlayStation Plus Premium is the addition of classic titles from the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP era, such as the aforementioned Jak and Daxter title.

The Jak and Daxter series began in 2001 with Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation 2. Now joining The Jak and Daxter Collection is the PS2 and PSP title of 2009, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

“Jak and Daxter are back in an adventure that picks up the action where the previous trilogy left off. Whether battling Sky Pirates in a customizable aircraft or blasting Aeropans with the punishing Gunstaff, their journey will take them beyond the edge of the Brink – and into a war bigger than they could have imagined. Originally released for PSP, this enhanced version includes up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters,” reads the post on the PlayStation Blog.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier isn't the most critically acclaimed entry in the series with a modest score of 71 on Metacritic but hopefully, it's the start of something, perhaps even a brand-new game in the series one day. Only time will tell.

All the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles will be available to subscribers on Tuesday, 19 March 2024.
