PlayStation Plus is celebrating its 15th anniversary and to commemorate well over a decade of affordable gaming, Sony is handing out some exciting freebies for members.
Allowing members to get access to a large library of free games as well as offering a brand-new batch of titles each month, PlayStation Plus has been a way for Sony fans to game without having to worry about the ever-increasing cost of software.
It is because of PS Plus that members are able to access hit games such as Lies of P, which is available at no extra cost throughout August, for example.
Now the Sony service is celebrating its 15th anniversary and to thank members, it is giving away some limited-time goodies.

It has been revealed that Sony will be giving away a bunch of free PSN avatars next week and although we do not yet know what they look like, a tease on the PlayStation blog has hinted at the franchises involved.
“As we announced a couple of weeks ago, the PlayStation Plus 15th anniversary celebrations are still going strong, and we’re excited to reveal a few more surprises!” The post reads.
“Starting August 5, PlayStation Plus members can claim a special set of 15th Anniversary Avatars, featuring fan-favorite titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, and Twisted Metal, all available at no additional cost.”
As you can see, one such game will be Hogwarts Legacy and with the Harry Potter-inspired game hardly receiving any new content since it was first released back in 2023, a free avatar is worth its wait in gold.

As mentioned, we do not yet know what the avatar will include but maybe some of the iconic characters from the game could be featured as a way to celebrate the best-selling RPG.
PSN avatars used to be big business back in the days of the PlayStation 3 but fell off with the arrival of the PlayStation 4 and 5.
However, if there is one thing players love, it is a way to customise their profiles and so there is no doubt that these free avatars will do the job when they are released on 5 August.
