Thanks to some new info from a leaker and some extra new info from Sony, we now may know the release date of the upcoming PlayStation 5 sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.

Thank you in advance to Game Rant's Derek Nichols for the original story!

Sony revealed some brand new info about the upcoming Sucker Punch developed game Ghost of Yōtei yesterday, including a rough estimate of its release date.

The source of this info is the PlayStation Store listing for Ghost of Yōtei, which was updated at some point yesterday afternoon.

The PlayStation Store page has a lot of juicy information, but the most interesting bit details the weapons that Atsu will use to “hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge".

“Alongside its stunning new setting, Ghost of Yōtei also features new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and even new weapons for Atsu to master,” states the PlayStation Store listing for Ghost of Yōtei, “including ōdachi, kusarigama, and dual katanas".

The PlayStation Store page also confirms a very vague release date of 2025, but we can narrow that down a little bit further thanks to a brand new leak.

Take a look at the game in action below.

As revealed by the YouTuber Detective Seeds on Twitter, two separate people have contacted him regarding Ghost of Yōtei’s release date, one of which he states has been “spot on” with information in the past.

“Just for clarification there are two people giving info, one who said mid to late August but has missed a bit, and one said mid to late July but has been spot on with info,” Detective Seeds revealed.

“My guess is it is somewhere in the middle.”

What’s interesting about this leak is that Detective Seeds actually posted this a day before Sony updated Ghost of Yōtei’s PlayStation Store page. I think that makes it seem a little bit more legitimate, because the timing is a little bit too coincidental.

Hopefully, this means that Sony is gearing up to show us a second trailer for Ghost of Yōtei too, potentially even during an upcoming State of Play? We’ll have to wait and see if they announce one at some point in the next couple of weeks to know for sure.
