One of PlayStation 5's biggest exclusives has just received a free update, and it's available on PlayStation Plus if you're keen to check it out.
PlayStation gamers have the luxury of a massive exclusives library from the PS4 and PS5 to check out, and a lot of these have ended up on PlayStation Plus over the years.
As such, considering the popularity of these titles and the ease of updating digital games nowadays, some of them have also received free updates years after release.
PlayStation Plus users who have Demon's Souls installed were treated to a free update earlier this week. The update is included with all copies of the game, including for owners of physical and non-PS Plus digital copies.

The new update for Demon's Souls brings the game to version to 1.007.000, and it coincides with the PS5's September update which added the new Power Saver mode.
The update allows Demon's Souls players to launch the game with the new Power Saver option active. This mode reduces the game's resolution and framerate so it draws less power, as well as allowing the console to run cooler and more energy-efficiently.
While the resolution in Power Saver mode hasn't been confirmed yet, numerous reports claim the framerate has been capped at 30FPS while this mode is active.
For a game reliant on quick reactions like this, it might not be ideal. But if you wish to save a little energy and let your console get less hot during extended gameplay sessions, it's a decent alternative for Sony to provide.

Other games which have been confirmed to be receiving the Power Saver mode in a free update includes Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and Ghost of Yotei. It's likely that more games could follow suit as well.
Demon's Souls is available as part of PlayStation Plus Extra, the middle tier of Sony's PS Plus service which offers hundreds of free games every month for players to check out.
Originally a launch title for the PlayStation 5, Demon's Souls is a remake of the original PS3 game from 2009, and features next-gen graphics and improved controls, along with a few other quality-of-life improvements to help new players.
It also remains as one of the few PS5 exclusives that Sony hasn't brought to PC or other platforms yet. Rumours of it being developed for PC have existed since before the game was even out, but five years later it still shows no sign of arriving there.
