Cyberpunk 2077 is available to play right now at no extra cost for select gamers across the world.
Despite its very publicised launch woes of Cyberpunk 2077 being practically unplayable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the CD Projekt RED sci-fi RPG is now considered to be one of the best games of its genre, and is beloved by millions.
To be fair to CDPR, I think we can all agree that Cyberpunk 2077 was way too much of an ambitious project for the last-gen consoles. But that still doesn't excuse the fact that it should never have launched on those platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077 turned a massive corner of positivity when its long-awaited free new-gen update arrived in 2022, followed by its Phantom Liberty expansion.

CDPR worked tirelessly to not only fix the game, but some might say, it over-delivered with a whole host of improvements and new features for the popular RPG.
If, for whatever reason, you’ve never played Cyberpunk 2077, now is your chance, because it’s available at no extra cost right now for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers.
On the aggregate score website, Metacritic, Cyberpunk 2077 scored 86, which isn't too bad, when you consider its launch woes. One could assume that if it had launched without a hiccup, it most likely would have exceeded 90 and earned a “Must-Play” accolade.
What’s more, if you have finished Cyberpunk 2077 but aren't quite done with Night City just yet, its aforementioned expansion, Phantom Liberty, is currently discounted by 30% for all PS Plus subscribers, bringing the price down from £24.99 to £17.49.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the 30% discount for Phantom Liberty expires on 23 July 2025 at 11:59pm UK time.
Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion are both available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
