Starfield's best free download only available for PC gamers

It's always nice to save a few quid!

As the launch of the highly anticipated Starfield fast approaches, fans will be looking at the best and possibly cheapest way to play Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG.

According to the developers at Bethesda, Starfield has been two decades in the making, but now thanks to modern-day technology, its vision can finally be brought to life. While fans haven't exactly been waiting 20 years for Starfield to be released, following multiple delays, fans have been waiting potentially nonetheless.

Check out the Starfield gameplay trailer below!

Even though it was nearly a PlayStation 5 exclusive, following Microsoft’s $7.5 billion takeover of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media, Starfield is now headed to PC and Xbox Series X|S with the hype train at full steam ahead.

That being said, if you’re not only looking to play Starfield on PC, but also looking to upgrade your gaming tech, then you’re in luck. As reported by RockPaperShotgun.com, fans can save a few quid by picking up either AMD’s RX 6600 or RX 6650 GPU via online retailer Overclockers.co.uk, which comes bundled with a copy of the game. It’s also worth mentioning that there are also other AMD GPUs that feature a similar deal. Either way, you’ll stand to make a decent saving regardless of which bundle you pick up.

However, despite making a decent saving, perhaps not everyone will be keen on purchasing AMD hardware, bundled with Starfield. Bethesda recently announced an exclusive collaboration with AMD, but fans quickly raised concerns about the potential of yet another broken PC launch.

Gamers are concerned with AMD not supporting Nvidia’s DLSS, which can have a negative impact on the performance of Starfield in a big way, in particular when it comes to frames per second. Hopefully, come launch, those concerns will be swiftly erased.

Starfield will be released on 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unless you pre-order the Premium or Constellation Edition, in which case it will be 1 September. Starfield will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
