Star Wars: Galactic Racer is totally free to claim on PC day one, no download needed

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is out now and if you’ve not pre-ordered the title, you’re in luck as you can actually grab it for free on PC.

That feels a little too good to be true, but it’s not. Star Wars: Galactic Racer has launched on Amazon Luna as a surprise, free day one offering.

Amazon Luna, if you don’t know, is the free gaming service included in all Amazon Prime subscriptions.

You can navigate over to the Amazon Luna hub from your account and find Star Wars: Galactic Racer alongside an extensive catalogue of additional free games.

If you’re not already familiar with the service, Amazon Luna only offers PC versions of its included games, although Star Wars: Galactic Racer is eligible for cloud streaming.

Load up Galactic Racer instantly without the need for a console

That means you can dive in instantly without the need for any advanced kit. We literally just loaded it up in the office to test that theory for ourselves.

The only caveat to Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s inclusion on Amazon Luna is that you’ll only be able to play through the single-player campaign.

This version of the game doesn’t feature the multiplayer offering, I suppose in the hope that you’ll eventually pay to pick up the full release.

If you’re not familiar with the game, Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set during the era of New Republic with the single-player campaign following lone racer Shade.

“As the galaxy rebuilds from the fall of the Empire, a lifelong fan and true believer in the sport of racing, Darius Pax has assembled an underground racing league with the hope of creating a new golden age of galaxy-wide racing for the masses,” reads the game’s synopsis.

You’ll partake in Pax’s events as Shade with every race featuring choices that’ll shape your journey.
